Michael Griffith ended a multi-decade Wall Street career with one clear goal in mind: to write and publish thriller/suspense novels. After talking and writing to a large number of aspiring independent authors, he put those plans on hold and decided to give back. He published Committed in November 2015, a fiction/non-fiction hybrid. Committed is contemporary fiction with business/family drama and a classic a "boy meets girl" love story theme. The non-fiction piece, woven into the rest of the novel, can help writers find their way, and avoid mistakes by many that have come before. And because it's built into an actual novel, they don't have to feel like they're reading a textbook.
You'll Be Home For Christmas is a holiday-themed short story (more love story, no non-fiction) follow-up to Committed, following Peter and Christine's story through their first Christmas together. As the title may suggest, it also explores that many feelings we all have about loved ones who are either far away or gone from our lives. One reviewer described it as, "a heartwarming tale about Peter." You'll Be Home For Christmas remains in Amazon's Top 100 in it's category nearly a year later.
The Covetous Pursuits manuscript is finished and in the revision and editing phase. It again follows the lives of Peter and Christine, but starting before the prior two books, continuing through the same time period, and what happens after. Pure suspense/thriller, Covetous Pursuits will stand on its own for those new to the characters. Those that have read the other two, however, as it becomes clear that seemingly innocent events in Committed were actual part of things more sinister. Careful not to cover old ground, Covetous Pursuits reminds us that not everything is as it seems at first glance.
